As you can see we have just received our new Paul Harnden chairs and we have already proudly presented them in our shop window. These seemingly simple ash chairs with their compound angles are literally a conundrum to make using wedged expansion joints and no glue. The design, of which only one has ever been found, is a naive and rustic corruption of a windsor chair ( circa 1790s) possibly made by a basketmaker.
